Background:
Founded in 1840, the school is housed in Victorian buildings in a small village. It offers 'extensive' grounds with good-sized play areas, a field, gardens and an environmental area. Pupils can attend French and sports clubs and teams compete against local schools in football, netball and athletics. There is also a strong music and drama tradition, with woodwind tuition available. There is a 'very strong' parent teacher and friends association with lots of village support, and the school's swimming pool is open to all village children in the summer.
