Background:
Exmouth Community College was formed as an 'all through' comprehensive school in September 1967 by the amalgamation of two adjacent county secondary schools 'one for boys and one for girls' and a co-educational grammar school. The college buildings are on two sited about 50 metres apart. In 1997 a purpose-built 16-classroom block was opened on Green Close. It also has extensive ICT facilities, new science laboratories and specialist rooms for all subjects. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include art, drama, music and dance, theme park visits, rock climbing and caving. The college aims to provide a safe, secure and non-threatening environment in which students develop consideration for others, self-discipline and positive relationships.
