Village school built in 1879; extended and upgraded in 1982; further improvements in 2003. Parents have provided extra facilities in recent years, including new library; extensive grounds and outdoor sporting facilities. Over-subscribed. Works closely with community; has very supportive Friends of Ermington School and is committed to a wide, enriched curriculum. School offers a kids' club after school until 5.30pm. Wide range of extra-curricular activities including sports clubs, technology, art, dance, homework clubs. Each year, juniors participate in residential visits to variety of venues. Schools Curriculum Award (1990, 1997); Artsmark Silver (2001); Investor in People status (2005). Ethos: 'A caring, vibrant and viable school in which all children can aspire to their full potential'.
