Background:
Marlborough School was built shortly after the First World War but, due to extensive damage in the Second World War, was rebuilt as a primary school in the mid-1960's. The school is proud to offer its children a 'range' of extra-curricular activities. These include football and netball, in which the school participates in leagues, and kwik cricket. Children can also go sailing each week with members of the Horizons Project, and attend gymnastics and homework club. Marlborough has 'regular' involvement in charity fund raising for the NSPCC and has sponsored a child in Uganda. Children in Year 5 are invited to attend school camp, where they can take part in activities such as mountain biking, abseiling and climbing. Marlborough aims to 'provide a secure and happy atmosphere where children learn effectively and are prepared for the next phase of their education'.
