Background:
King Edward VI Community College, popularly known as KEVICC, is situated in the historic Devon town of Totnes. Both College and town enjoy a favoured location in the Dart Valley amidst the rolling South Hams countryside. Its attractive, spacious campus provides a wonderful, safe setting in which to learn. The college enjoys the status of a specialist Arts College. Imagination and creativity are fostered across the curriculum. The college is developing into a centre of excellence for music. The designs of Year 10 technology students led a national field in terms of originality, practicality and visual appeal. The Ariel is a community arts centre, which offers college a 320 seat theatre with a semi-sprung floor suitable for dance events, revamped music, rehearsal rooms and a recording studio. In competitive sports the college has a reputation second to none in South Devon. The high quality of its experience and the associated teaching is recognised by the English Sports Councils' Sportsmark award received by the college. The college is a caring community within which good relationships encourage effective and creative learning.
