Background:
St Joseph's School is a voluntary aided primary school, provided and owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Plymouth, and maintained by the Devon education authority. It is a co-educational primary school catering for children from the age of five to 11 years of age. On 25th April 1963, the school moved away from the Church buildings, to the present site in Coombeshead. There are a number of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. The school aims to provide a safe, happy, caring and well-ordered environment in which learning can take place and where each child is valued as an individual.
