Background:
Meavy Church of England Primary School founded in 1926. The school is set in the south-west corner of Dartmoor 'surrounded by beautiful countryside. The building is on one level with wheelchair access and facilities suitable for the 21st century. There is an adjacent field for play and sports use. Notable successes in inter-school competitions have been small schools tag rugby county runners up in 1999 and winners of the area in tag rugby, cross country, kwik cricket, high five netball and football in 1999. The choir has sung in West Devon School's Prom and Exeter Cathedral concert and the pupils have raised money for charity with singing and Maypole dancing in local events. There are various community links including pre-school gym, community workshop and a major input into the village fair.
