Background:
Bull Point Primary School, situated in an area of post-war housing close to the River Tamar, was opened in 1962. The school has nursery, infant and junior classes and is wholly maintained by Plymouth City Council. The building is the subject of a continuing programme of modernisation and improvement. The school is set in modern, light and comfortable surroundings. It has well maintained playing areas including a large expanse of grass. The school has access to local playing fields and is within walking distance of areas of woodland and river estuary. The school organises various out of school activities including theatre visits, visits to places of interest in support of the curriculum, outdoor pursuits and sporting fixtures. Children's educational experiences are further enhanced by opportunities to participate in music and drama events and environmental projects. In addition a number of school clubs are also available including football club and the display club. The school aims to maintain a caring and happy community providing equal opportunities, where pupils feel safe, valued and respected.
